The Dong Show at Madam Cooper's Parlor

Every Thursday night at Madam Cooper's you'll find the (often sold-out) Dong Show male revue. What you get: a couple of hot cowboy studs strutting it, shaking it and flirting with the all-genders crowd, plus the talented Madam Cooper singing and strutting while the Klondike Kid serves cocktails at the bar. It's a wild time.

The night I went, I was very kindly allowed to photograph Halo, Cowboy and Madam Cooper as they prepared for the show. The Madam was busy trying to eat her dinner while also organizing the set list on a misbehaving laptop, while Cowboy combed his mustache and Halo sprayed on his beguiling scent.

I also got to watch the warmup rehearsal and the yoga session in the cowboys' tiny, sweltering dressing room.

That night, we had Elvira, Mistress of the Dark in the house (yes, she lives in Portland now) and lots of enthusiastic people with wads of cash and the love of a good, horny time.

During the performances I shot with my thermal imaging camera, which is part of a larger project where I've photographed inside of Mary's Club, a sex club and other places, only capturing people's heat.

I haven't shared any of that work online yet, but I'm sharing some from the Dong Show here for the first time.
